Hi there,
this Pumpkin Melon Farm can be a Single Level Farm, or a Multi-Level Farm you can grow both Pumpkins and Melons in the one Farm. On the Blueprints for the Single Level Pumpkin Melon Farm, I used a mixture of Pumpkins and Melon seeds. With Melons you get a random number of Melon Slices whereas with Pumpkins you always get one Pumpkin from one Plant when you harvest, so to see the harvest rate use the Exported World with just Pumpkins. I also have included a farm with both Pumpkins and Melons, and one with just Melons.
When you build one in your world, you can have whatever, Pumpkin or Melon seeds, wherever you wish in the farm. The Underground Levels are a suggestion if you want to build on the ground level, but you can build this completely underground or completely in the air, it is up to you.
The way that I have built the Pumpkin Farm it has Observers for triggering the Auto Harvest. With the Single Level build there is 30 plants that will continue to grow through the day and night, underground or wherever you decide to build it. It will produce more than 40 Pumpkins an hour. This may vary if you have more farms nearby, this is the figure I got in the Exported World that is included with the Blueprints.
With the Multi-Level build there is 300 plants that will continue to grow through the day and night, underground or wherever you decide to build it. It will produce more than 400 Pumpkins an hour. This may vary if you have more farms nearby, this is the figure I got in the Exported World that is included with the Blueprints.
There is a Remote Trigger input as well so you can have it Harvest each time you go over a Pressure Plate like the one in Home Sweet Home’s Front Door. I have included an input at the lowest level, one at ground level and one at the highest level, if you want it to Harvest by a Remote Trigger, you will only need one input, or you could have as many as you like, I included all three to show you the extremes, you can have one come in anywhere between.
You can also change your crops without having to break any blocks to get access to the plants, this is explained in the Blueprints.
The 10 Level Farm is the largest I could build and still keep it neat, of course you can build more levels, but you will need more repeaters and you would need to loop out with a Redstone Signal to incorporate more Repeaters and it would start to get ugly, a better way to go, if 400+ Pumpkins per hour wasn’t enough, would be to build the same 10 Level Farm again next to the first one.
